Advent calendar day 10

10.12.2018

In 2009 a true legend from the western part of Norway died, only 42 years old, during a run in the mountains outside of Bergen. Among his best results were two fourth places at the world championships in 1993 and 1995, a gold medal from the Nordic orienteering championship and plenty of national medals in both orienteering, track and field and hill running. In his later years he was also called “Stoltzekongen”, in English “the king of Stoltzen” after his many victories in the steep hillrace “Stoltzekleiven opp”. The answer is his last name.
