Advent calendar day 7

07.12.2018

In 2003 the world orienteering championship was held in Switzerland. Simone Luder, now Niggli, won four golds of four possible and Thierry Gueorgiou took his first out of eight middle distance golds. The sprint was held in the spectacular village Rapperswil at the eastern side of Lake Zürich. For the Norwegians it was an ok championship with four medals, even though Norway missed the big highlight with a victory. For many Norwegians the championship will be remembered for the drama during one of the two sprint test races. During this test race Anders Nordberg was threatened with a gun by an angry farmer and had to warn the runners to take another route choice. One of the test races was held in Richterswil, the answer of today is the place of the other test race, where Anders Nordberg met the angry farmer.
